"Having the Right Power"

You might find it interesting that I called this article "Having the Right Power". I named the article that because so many people have "power". I'm talking about spiritual and natural, we all have some sort of influence in the world. Whether it's on your job, school, church, or business. Did you know that power is just influence? The more influence you have, the more power you have. Just to be transparent with you... my sphere of influence or power is connected to my job(but God is the source). I am a supervisor at a childrens home and I have influence over my staff, volunteers, the kids,  and their parents. That is my sphere of influence. Now "the power" is not having  power(if that makes sense) ... it is about having the wisdom on what to do with the power that you have.   You see having the "right power" is about knowing when you should use the power and not abuse it for selfish gain. Jesus had power, but He used his power to change lives, never for His benefit. "He had the "right power"... Now lets go deeper... Matthew 4:1-4 says(1) "Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. (2) And when He had fasted forty days and forty nights. afterward He was hungry.(3) Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread. (4) But He answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread along, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God". Here is a great example in scripture where Jesus had the opportunity to use his power for his own gain, but He didn't. Jesus never used His power to get back at people, or to make people feel belittled. He always used it to help someone else. Anytime you use your power for selfish gain you are fulfilling the lust of the flesh. Not only that... it will always come back and bite you in the butt. Here me when I tell you (ALWAYS). Sometimes I had to realize that Jesus... the son of God could have called on 10,000 angels to come to His aid when He was getting persecuted... but He didn't... He humbled himself and God exhalted Him. Whewwwww... I'm getting excited just thinking about it. So lets wrap this up.... having the right power is not about position... its about wisdom. It's about knowing when to use your power and not abuse your power. God has given all of us power or influence... some might have more than the other... but that doesn't matter. It's all about how you use what God has given you to be effective in the earth.
"Lord teach us to have wisdom, and not to use our power for selfish gain. But to change lives for the kingdom of God in Jesus name Amen.

Be Blessed guys!
